Description
A beautifully made original Victorian locket pendant; in the high Etruscan-revival style that was so fashionable of the period this beauty has applied 3D detailing, and finished with bright-cut hand engraving. One side is slightly more ornate and detailed than the other; giving the option for a more dramatic ‘Night’ option, as well as a more muted ‘Day’ option. Inside opens to reveal space for two photos, or a small memento of your choice such as a lock of hair, that can be secured with the original silver photo mounts
With the uptake in archelogy around the world, the Victorian era saw a huge resurgence in motifs from by-gone eras; with the highly stylised Etruscan era being a particular favourite. This beautifully made piece encapsulates the spirit of that with minute details and great craftsmanship.
A really wearable piece today, this beauty looks gorgeous on its own or layered with other pieces. Can be styled on anything from a long guard chain, to a velvet choker ribbon.

CONDITION: Great condition – no dents or splits to the silver, engraving and details are crisp with minimal signs of wear. Locket mechanism clicks shut nice and securely, and hinge works nicely. Two original picture rings to help secure photos / mementos; one fits nice and snug, the other is a little loose and seems to fall out a little easily but this should be remedied with a little adjustment based on what mementos you’re inserting to pad it out a little.
