A supremely elegant original American Art Deco ring; finely modelled with seven shimmering diamonds set to a sleek platinum wishbone mount, accented with hand engraved geometric leaf design to the base. This unusual beauty makes an excellent complementary piece to large more unusually shaped rings such as navette or clusters. However, I like to wear it on its own, as a statement cocktail ring in its own right, especially when worn on the little finger; with the largest diamond acting as particularly eye catching design element.

The wishbone has been popular image, symbolising luck and love, since Roman times; but it particularly gained traction in the Art Deco era in rings and necklaces. This fabulous example makes the perfect gift to yourself or another if you’re seeking something that little bit different.

ERA: Art Deco c.1930s

ORIGIN: American

MATERIAL: Platinum (unhallmarked but tested) and Diamond (Largest is 0.20ct and estimated total carat weight measured with a presidium diamond gauge across all stones is 0.60ct). Diamonds are a nice white sparkle and eye clean.

SIZE: This is suitable as a pinky ring, or on a third finger if you have take small sized rings. Because of the wishbone shape to both sides this is a little hard to gauge accurately; however believed to be approximately a U.S. size 3  / UK size F 1/2

WEIGHT: 5 grams – nicely weighted piece for the size.

CONDITION: Great condition – hand engraved details are crisp with minimal signs of wear. No chips or cracks to the stones, which are evenly matched colour and beautifully sparkly. Shank of ring is a nice thickness, and will give many years of wear. Please note that this is an unusual ‘double wishbone’ shape to the reverse side is also angled (see last photo) – I’ve never seen one like this before but I find it comfortable to wear; it doesn’t dig into the underside of the finger, just takes a little wearing to get used to the band shape.
