Description

An adorable set of three miniature intaglio charms that would originally have been worn at the end of a watch chain, but today make a great pendant in their own right! The three are all gold plated and include:

  1. Maltese Cross seal – set with a pale, foil backed Rock Crystal intaglio carved with a bird carrying an envelope and the word ‘VITE’ (French for ‘fast’)
  2. Lyre seal – set with a translucent white Chalcedony Agate intaglio carved with a philosophers silhouette
  3. Cornucopia seal – set with a Bloodstone intaglio carved with a dove carrying an olive branch to symbolise peace

A charming little collection and a great addition to any stash of antique charm pendants!

ERA: Georgian c.1820s

MATERIAL: Gold plated base metal, set with Rock Crystal, Chalcedony, and Bloodstone gems.

SIZE: The largest is the Maltese Cross seal that stands 12mm tall.

WEIGHT: 5.9 grams total.

CONDITION: Nice antique condition – gemstone intaglios are all perfect with no chips or cracks and nice quality engraving. The gold plating is a warm antique shade and although well worn across the piece, I think this only adds to its appeal. You could investigate having these re-plated if you wanted them gold looking all over. The loop on the Maltese cross charm does show some damage but at present is secure; the other two have nicely secure solid loops. Please note that these are not easily removable from the central jump ring; they’re intended to be worn together.

SHIPPING: Free inside the U.S. and to the UK – please see terms of sale as buyers pay any import / customs charges.
