A stunning and rare original Art Nouveau spider necklace by the collectable designer Murrle Bennett. This elegant piece features a delicate gold wire work web with a dainty seed pearl at the centre of the web. Suspended from it is a beautifully modelled spider with turquoise cabochon body and seed pearl head. Despite it’s delicate design it’s extremely eye catching and would definitely be a conversation piece.
A great addition to any collector of Murrle Bennett, Art Nouveau jewellery, or indeed spider fans!

The company manufactured in both Pforzheim, Germany and London in the UK. They became particularly well known for their wonderful, artistic Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts designs and were stocked in Liberty of London.
REFERENCES: A similar necklace with slightly larger web design recently sold by the high end Art Nouveau specialist Tadema Gallery London for an undisclosed sum. It also features in their recent publication of important pieces. This is a rare design and I have only seen one other example ‘in the flesh’ similar to this piece.
