Description
A charming and collectible pendant by Thomas L Mott; featuring a chrysanthemum enamelled in bright orange with scrolling green leaves, surrounded by a blue hexagonal border. This is part of a ‘Flower of the Month’ series by this designer (see last photo) and this design was chosen for December so it’s a perfect Christmas gift!
ERA: Vintage 1940s
ORIGIN: English
DESIGNER: TLM was founded in Birmingham, England in 1875 by Thomas Lee Mott. The TLM company revolutionized jewellery design by releasing a unique collection with wings of real tropical butterflies that were exhibited at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924 with Morpho butterfly wings brought from South America. They later went on to specialise in charm pendants such as this.
MATERIAL: Sterling Silver and Enamel
SIZE: 15mm across
WEIGHT: 2 grams
CONDITION: Enamel is perfect with no loss of colour. Some very slight signs of wear to the surface of the silver, visible only when angled in certain lights (see last photo) but this is commensurate with age and mentioned only for utmost accuracy. The jump ring is open so would recommend having this soldered closed once you’ve decided whether you want to wear it as a pendant or add to a charm bracelet.
SHIPPING: Free inside the U.S. and to the UK – see terms and conditions for details.
