A stunning original Victorian chain; the sleek snake like tubular links are each pierced with four stars in buttery yellow gold and the piece is finished off with a smooth barrel clasp.

These pierced star link chains were particular to the Victorian era and are extremely hard to find and very sought after today. This gorgeous example looks great on her own, layered with other pieces, or showing off your antique pendant collection!

MATERIAL: 9ct Yellow Gold (stamped 9ct to clasp and tested)

SIZE: 21″ long and the links measure 3.3mm across.

WEIGHT: 13.3 grams

CONDITION: Great antique condition. Links are a beautifully formed and have a smooth, snake like feel. No major dents or splits/tears to the gold. Only two very minor details to note (last two photos):

Just one link is very very slightly misshapen, only visible under close inspection and it is towards the back of the chain (3.5″ from the barrel side of the clasp).
On the link closest to the barrel fitting the star has been partially pierced – so it doesn’t have a fully formed star (last photo).

Both these very minor condition points are extremely hard to see; I could only pick it out when rotating the chain and examining with a very close eye so I’m just mentioning for utmost accuracy. These do not impact the overall look of the piece – it’s really in lovely condition for its age.

Clasp is well made and clicks nicely into place. Will take a nice chunky pendant but be careful not to overload it. Box and pendant are for illustration only – but this piece will come beautifully gift wrapped. More photos and video available on request.

CARE GUIDANCE: As this links are hollow I’d recommend you store this piece in it’s own box, away from other jewels and be sure not to shut it in your jewellery box / put items on top of the chain as this could crush the links. Lightly polish gently with a soft cloth – do not tug at the links while cleaning. Keep away from small children – this is not a chain to be pulled at hard. She is a well made and stable piece that will give many years of wear yet if she’s looked after properly!
