Description

A charming antique Victorian pendant; modelled in warm 9ct rose gold and featuring dried white heather between glass. The Victorians fell in love with all things Scottish following Queen Victoria’s honeymoon with Prince Albert to the Scottish highlands early in her reign.

Scottish talismans became popular love tokens throughout the rest of her reign and so this white ‘lucky’ heather pendant was likely given between sweethearts. A lovely and very wearable piece today; perfect on its own or layered with other charms.

ERA: Late Victorian c.1900

MATERIAL: 9ct Rose Gold (unhallmarked but tested), glass, and dried heather.

SIZE: 18mm across, not including bale, and 5mm deep.

WEIGHT: 2.9grams

CONDITION: Lovely antique condition. Gold mount is secure and lovely warm rose colour. Nice strong jump ring. Heather is secure under the glass and doesn’t move around too much inside. This is dried heather so has just a hint of the original white colour, with the foliage now lovely autumnal brown tones. Box and chain for illustration only but this will come beautifully gift wrapped.
