Description
A stunning and rare Georgian agate witches heart brooch; the banded agate with wonderful striations of orange and cream, is hand carved and set to a striking hobnail mount in blush rose gold. What makes the beauty especially rare, is the larger size, pronounced witches heart shape, and the overall lovely condition.
A fabulous addition to any witches heart collection!
ERA: Georgian
ORIGIN: Likely English
MATERIAL: 9ct rose gold (acid tested), banded agate, base metal pin.
SIZE: 4cm tall
CONDITION: Gorgeous antique condition. The banded has beautiful natural colour variation of orange and cream with minimal surface wear. The 9ct rose gold mount has a striking hobnail design which is well made and secure. Simple ‘c’ hook pin clasp is original and secure but I would potentially add a safety chain for additional security if desired.
Only two very tiny condition point to mention for utmost accuracy; when held up to the light:
- The very top indent of the heart and bottom left of the heart show a slight gap of light coming through where the gold mount doesn’t quite hug the agate. However these are original, and the agate is secure.
- There is a very minute chip to the top right of the heart (around the 2 o’clock position) but this is barely noticeable when worn and may have happened with the original setting, again no risk to the security of the agate.
These are mentioned only for utmost accuracy under close inspection and not noticeable when worn.
SHIPPING: Free inside the U.S. and to the UK
CARE GUIDANCE: As this is an original Georgian piece I would recommend it be kept in its own box so that the agate doesn’t get scratched against other pieces. Do not wear in water / immerse in liquids.
