Description

A charming original 1930s Australian Art Deco band ring; with beautiful scrolling hand engraved detailing to the sides  in rich 18ct white gold.

This ring was made by the iconic Australian firm G.E.Rodd, under their ‘APEX’ brand name. George Rodd established a workshop in 1919 and began making trophies and medallions soon expanding into jewellery. By the 1930’s Rodd was the leading manufacturer of jewellery in Australia and he used the trade name Apex until the firm became a limited company in 1948 when the name changed to Rodd.

This would originally have been a wedding band and would still make a charming wedding band today, especially to match any vintage engagement rings. It also makes an excellent ‘keeper’ ring or addition to your stack of bands.

ERA: Vintage c.1930s

ORIGIN: Australian – By G.E.Rodd jewellery house

SIZE: U.S. size 5.5 / UK size ‘L’. Ring is 2mm wide.

WEIGHT: 2 grams

MATERIAL: 18k white gold – stamped inside shank

CONDITION: Great vintage condition – the engraved deco design is still very crisp and a nice thickness to the shank meaning it will still give many years of wear yet. Please note that the top edge of the band is plain all the way around, the engraving is on the sides only – this is the original design of the piece, it has not worn away. I have kept the original warmness of this antique white gold; if you want this piece to be ‘brilliant’ white gold in the vein of modern pieces you can easily have it rhodium coated which is finish applied to all modern white gold jewellery.

SHIPPING: Free inside the UK or to the U.S. – please be aware that buyers are responsible for any customs or import charges
