An absolute knockout ring that I’m releasing from my personal collection as I just don’t wear it enough and this beauty deserves to be shown off!

The star of the show is a jaw-dropping natural blue zircon in rich seafoam blue colour and a whopping 6.5 carats. It is set in an elegant rose gold mount with geometric Art Deco detail shoulders. This is such an unusual piece as it is hard to find antique zircon’s in this beautiful chunky antique round cut of this size and such stellar condition.

Do not mistake this natural gemstone for the man-made stone ‘cubic zirconia’ – Zircons are a natural gem particularly prized for their intense blue or cognac colours. What makes this gemstone particularly beautiful is that, although softer, Zircon has a higher Refractive Index than diamonds meaning it gives out gorgeous sparkle factor. This means that colourless examples have often been confused with diamonds over the years! More detail on Zircons can be found here: https://www.gia.edu/zircon

This beauty looks great on her own or stacked next to some diamond eternity bands. A great addition to any antique jewellery collection, particularly for those that love unusual gemstones with character.

ERA: Art Deco c.1920s

ORIGIN: Likely Australian – it was purchased from Australia, and they have well known deposit of gem quality Zircon in Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.

MATERIAL: Zircon – measures 10.43mm x 7.4mm which is conservatively 6.5 carats with a Presidium Gem Gauge. Setting is 10k rose gold, stamped inside the shank ’10k’.

SIZE: US 7.25 / UK ‘O’ – Width of band at shoulders is 2mm and it slims to just over 1mm at the reverse.

WEIGHT: 3.4 grams

CONDITION: Beautiful antique condition. The Zircon is an absolutely knockout seafoam blue colour with even distribution. Zircons are naturally a softer stone and often antique pieces show extensive wear to the facets. However this one is in exceptionally good condition for its age; minimal signs of surface wear / abrasions. The setting is nicely modelled with Art Deco detailing; it narrows to the back of the shank but this is part of the original design. Stone is secure in the four claws – a teeny bit loose so it rotates round a little bit not a big issue at all and you could have a jeweller look at this if it bothers you.

Box is for illustration only but this will come beautifully gift wrapped. Please examine photos – more and video available on request.

SHIPPING: Free inside U.S. and to UK – see terms and conditions for details regarding customs charges etc.
