Stunning original Art Deco five stone half-hoop ring; featuring five twinkling old cut graduated diamonds set to a beautifully hand crafted platinum setting with buttery 18ct yellow gold band. This timeless piece is so elegant and in such beautiful condition; the diamonds and beautifully set in platinum with hand engraved detailing so as to give the illusion of a bigger sparkle and full half hoop look.

Each stone has a star burst like surround which has been hand-carved into the platinum, and then finished with a square millegrain edging to also make the stones look as though they’re square rather than round. In addition, the platinum head of the ring is set floating above the yellow gold shank so as to get extra light behind the diamonds and ensure they’re brighter white. All in all, a gorgeous looking piece that uses all the skill of an antique jeweller to give an even more impressive look and maximise the sparkly effect of the diamonds. This style of ring absolutely typifies diamond pieces of the 1930s/40s when jewellers had to get very creative with the materials they had available as diamonds, platinum, and gold were all in short supply because of the war.

A supremely elegant piece on its own or layered with other pieces. This would make a charming wedding band, or a stacking band to complement your other antique jewels.

CONDITION: Great condition – the diamonds are beautifully sparkly and well matched. The setting and size of the stones prevents colour/clarity estimation. Engraved detail to the platinum head of the ring is beautifully crisp with no signs of wear. Nice thickness to the shank.

CARE GUIDANCE: Whilst this is a very wearable ring it is still an antique so should be worn with a little bit of care – no immersion in liquids, swimming, showering, playing sports!.
