A substantial and beautifully made silver double albert necklace; the heavy curb links have a wonderful tactile smoothness to them and it feels so good to wear.
It is getting harder and harder to find original Victorian double Albert chains like this as many get broken up over the years to make bracelets or melted down. This piece is particularly unusual in that every links features the sterling lion to show it’s fineness.
Extremely wearable as aa necklace it looks great on its own or stacked with other pieces; it can of course also still be worn as a watch chain! A great staple to any antique jewellery collection.
ERA: Edwardian c. early 1900s
MAKER: Features the makers mark ‘HP’ on both dog clips, the t-bar, and several links. Possibly made by Henry Price of Birmingham, England.
MATERIAL: Sterling Silver
SIZE: Measures 16″ long – could easily be lengthened or shortened by a professional jeweller if desired.
WEIGHT: 44.3 grams – a nice substantial weight.
CONDITION: Beautiful antique condition. All the major curb links bear the sterling lion hallmark. Other links are also marked showing sterling. Both clasps work well. Minimal signs of wear across the piece.
