An exquisite example of fine Victorian Celtic revival jewellery; beautifully modelled in buttery 15ct yellow gold with hand engraved Celtic motif accenting a rich Scottish Cairngorm Citrine of intense amber hue.

Queen Victoria inspired a fascination of all things Celtic when she fell in love with the country on her visit in 1842; with Prince Albert purchasing Balmoral for her in 1852. All things Scottish became the rage including in jewellery and this is a particularly fine example. It has everything a collector of antique Celtic revival jewellery could wish for and is in stunning condition.

MATERIAL: Scottish Cairngorm Citrine and 15ct yellow gold (unhallmarked but acid tested).

SIZE: 3.4cm long

WEIGHT: 3.5grams

CONDITION: Gorgeous condition – the engraving is crisp and finely done with all the little gold balls still in place around the edge. The Citrine is a stunning intense even colour. Simple c-clasp and original pin (not gold) works well. Some minute scratched numbers where the piece has previously been pawned. Brooch has been discretely acid tested to the reverse of the stone setting so not visible at all when worn.
