A stylish and rare pair of ‘Extra’ model 422 clip-on earrings, designed by the famous Danish designer Lina Christensen for the Georg Jensen jewellery house.
Christensen trained as a goldsmith in 1981, joining the Jensen firm in 1989. She became a designer for them in 1998, producing three full jewellery ranges for them until 2011.
The ‘Extra’ range designed by Christensen has been named one of Jensen’s most iconic designs, and ownership of the range has now returned to Christensen.
The earrings for this range are harder to find than the bangles and bracelets, especially with the clip rather than pierced fitting. These chic simple earrings are supremely comfortable to wear thanks to the silicon padded clip, which is hidden behind the ear when worn.
A timeless addition to any jewellery collection.

MATERIAL: Sterling Silver
SIZE: 2.4cm high and 0.5cm wide. Weight of both is 10 grams.
CONDITION: Great vintage condition. I have had these professionally polished so they have a beautiful clean finish with minimal signs of wear, commensurate with age. Clip mechanisms are nicely hinged and secure. The silicon pads have slightly discoloured with age/exposure to perfume/hairspray but they’re still flexible and will give many years of wear yet. As they’re the original pads, I’ve chosen not to replace them. Please see photos – video available on request.
If needed, a jeweller could convert these into pierced earrings with the addition of a silver post and butterfly.
These do not come with a Georg Jensen box but they will be beautifully gift wrapped.
