Description

A gorgeous pair of Georgian old-cut paste earrings; featuring rich royal purple chunky cut stones, foil backed in a simple silver collet mount. These were originally buttons but I had my jeweller professionally convert them into much more wearable earrings with the addition of a 14ct gold hook wire; very sympathetic to the original style of earrings worn in this period.

They hang at a really elegant length, just below the ear lobe and they catch the eye beautifully in daylight or candlelight. I have just two pairs in this rare colour so grab them while you can as these rare beauties get snapped up quickly! A great addition to any antique jewellery collection.

ERA: Original Georgian paste buttons (1820s) contemporarily converted into earrings.

MATERIAL: Foil backed old cut paste glass stones set in silver. Modern 14k solid gold hooks.

SIZE: Paste stones measure 14mm across (equivalent to a 6ct diamond per earring).

CONDITION: Great antique condition. The foiling shows only the very slightest signs of age but this only adds to the character and they still sparkle beautifully. No chips or cracks to the stones. No rips or tears to the silver. Stones are secure. Gold hooks have been professionally added with minimal interference to the setting. Please see photos which are part of the description – more and video available on request. Box is for illustration only but these will come beautifully gift wrapped.

SHIPPING: Free inside the UK and to the US – please note buyers are responsible for any customs or import charges.
