Georgian Chartreuse Green Paste Yellow Gold Ring c.1830s

Description

This stunning ring features a beautiful old cut green foil backed paste which is the most captivating chartreuse colour. It is in its original hobnail Georgian collet mount with scrolling hand engraved halo. This was originally a Georgian stickpin and I have had my jeweller sensitively convert this into a more wearable piece with the addition of a simple yellow gold band.

A gorgeous piece to wear on its own or stacked with other pieces.

ERA: Main body of ring is Georgian c.1830s, with modern band.

MATERIAL: Green coloured Paste (Glass) and 9ct yellow gold band.

WEIGHT: 3.1grams

SIZE: Halo measures 10x13mm. Ring measures U.K. Size ‘M 1/2’ which equates to US size ‘6.5’.

CONDITION: Great antique condition. The paste is bright and unchipped. Bubbles are visible under magnification but I think this only adds to the charm. Engraving on the gold halo is clear and not rubbed. Modern yellow gold band matches the Georgian head of the ring and has been sensitively and securely applied. There is a small section at the back of the setting where a small patch of gold was added from an early repair. This is not visible from the front and doesn’t affect durability. Please see photos for detailed closeups. More available on request.

CARE GUIDANCE: Whilst this ring is robust and beautifully made it is still an antique piece and as such should be worn as a dress ring, rather than every day. As the stone is foil backed it should not be immersed in liquids of any kind and kept away from perfumes and aerosols.

SHIPPING: Free shipping inside the UK and to the U.S. – please note the buyers are responsible for any customs or import charges.
