Arts and Crafts Turquoise Matrix 9ct Yellow Gold Ring c.1900

Stunning original Arts & Crafts ring featuring a blue turquoise matrix set in a warm antique gold setting. The Arts & Crafts movement prised craftsmanship and natural gemstones and this lovely ring is the embodiment of that. The mount is beautifully made with stylish double claw settings holding the pear shaped stone. The turquoise shows all the wonderful marbling that you get in natural matrix turquoise stones.

A great and very wearable addition to any antique jewellery collection.

ERA: Victorian c.1900

MATERIAL: 9ct gold (stamped) and natural Turquoise matrix.

SIZE: US size ‘6’ which is approximately a UK size ‘M’. Stone measures 10mm (at widest) by 16mm.

CONDITION: Great antique condition. The stone is not chipped or cracked and has a beautiful strong blue colour with nice matrix marbling. Ring has been re-sized at some point in its history but this has been professionally done. Unfortunately the hallmark is a little rubbed but it’s stamped ‘9ct’ and a makers mark which I think reads ‘L.K.B&B’. Shank is nice and solid.

CARE GUIDANCE: At present this is a dress ring for occasional not everyday wear as the claws are showing signs of wear (commensurate with age). If you wanted to make this an everyday piece you may wish to look at getting the claws re-tipped by a jeweller; this is already reflected in the pricing. Either way it should never be immersed in liquids or sprayed with perfumes/aerosols.
