A sumptuous antique solitaire band ring; featuring a gorgeous chunky old mine cut diamond, set to a smooth buttery 18ct yellow gold wide band.

The diamond is hand-cut and has that beautiful rainbow colour show that you get with old cut stones. It faces up with a very slight yellow tint but this, combined with those chunky facets and delicious culet visible through the table only add to its charm.

The added bonus of this handsome piece, is the deeply stamped antique hallmark which is supremely crisp as the day it was made, in Birmingham England in 1892.

• The diamond is estimated to be 0.52 carats using a presidium diamond gauge.
• The band measures 8mm across.

WEIGHT: 10.1 grams – a substantially well made piece.

CONDITION: Gorgeous condition – old cut diamond has the lovely asymmetry of a handcut stone with an overall slightly ‘cushion’ shape – no chips or cracks. The stone does protrude through the back of the setting but, because it has a lovely antique culet facet, it doesn’t dig into the skin. Very minimal signs of wear to the gold but you could have this polished to a new high shine by a jeweller if desired. Stunning crisp hallmark showing this ring has had minimal wear.
