Vintage Gucci Mariner Link Sterling Silver Bracelet c.1970s

A chic and supremely wearable vintage silver bracelet; formed of miniature puffy mariner links interspersed with double geometric spacer links.

The mariner link became popular in the Victorian era, taking it’s name and inspiration from the huge industrial sized anchor chains used on ocean liners. In the 1970s it had a resurgence of popularity, in particular because of it’s adoption by the Gucci fashion house and it has remained iconic ever since.

This lovely example is of dainty proportions, but in a nice longer length. Beautifully made in sterling silver it’s an extremely wearable piece on its own or layered with other pieces. A great staple for any vintage jewellery lover!

SIZE: 8″ long – a nice longer length for the larger wrist but it could easily be shortened by a jeweller if desired. Mariner links are 6 x 9mm and ‘puffy’ 3D form.

WEIGHT: 6.8 grams

CONDITION: Lovely vintage condition – no dents or splits to the silver. Clasp works well and is secure. Box is for illustration only but this piece will come beautifully gift wrapped.
