Description
A stunning and rare antique gold-rush era brooch; finely modelled in the most gorgeous buttery 22ct gold to naturalistic branch and accented with a small facetted red stone. This is supremely elegant and very charming brooch and its construction is gorgeous. A fine addition to any jewellery collection but of particular interest to collectors of the American gold-rush.
ERA: Victorian c.1850s
ORIGIN: American
MATERIAL: 22ct yellow gold (unhallmarked but acid tested) and small red stone which looks to be either garnet or ruby. It’s too small to test so selling as garnet.
SIZE: 4.5cm long
WEIGHT: 3.2grams
CONDITION: Gorgeous condition – the leaves are finely modelled and have no splits or tears to the gold. The pin is exquisitely crafted and works well. The reverse has a couple of small scratched numbers from where the brooch has previously been pawned in its life. I wonder what stories it could tell!
SHIPPING: Free inside the UK and to the US – Please note that buyers are responsible for any import or customs charges.
